For the July HistoryFare monthly talk, Brian fare will be our speaker due to a change in the itinerary schedule.
Brian will be presenting his latest talk about Royal Air Force Langar.
The airfield opened in 1942 as an RAF Bomber Unit and became home to No 207 Sqn (Leicester’s Own) before transferring to the USAAF as AAF Station 490 and then after the war it became a Canadian base and home to No 30 Air Materiel Base (AMB).
This should be an interesting talk as many Meltonians worked at the base for A V Roe & Company.
