For the June HistoryFare monthly talk, we welcome military historian and author Nigel Atter as our guest speaker.
Nigels talk “The 2nd Leicesters in Mesopotamia”, will be based on his book “With Valour and Distinction” and will cover the military actions of the 2nd Leicesters in the relief of Kut al Amara and then the advance on and capture of Baghdad, and the final actions of the Leicesters before being transferred to Palestine.
The talk will also cover the medical arrangements (or lack of) the weather and topography. The talk will be informed by Captain Donnie Weir’s unpublished letters.
